The paper mainly studies on the conception of mathematics to meet current mathematics educational research attraction. In the paper, many kinds of method such as literature, questionnaire investigation, statistics and comparison, etc, are adopted in the paper. After the quantitative and qualitative analysis of questionnaires is carried out, research on the conception of mathematics can make the students broaden their conception and improve their technique to deal with the mathematics problem. Especially it can provide the evidence to meet the current mathematics educational research attraction, changing the traditional mathematics conception and curriculum reform of mathematics.The paper consists of three chapters:In the first chapter the academic research on the conception of mathematics is carried out.In the second chapter the learning method of middle school students and the teaching methods of teachers living in Hong Kong and mainland such as Changchun city, are investigated through questionnaire, and then suggestions on the conception of mathematics are put forward.In the third chapter all the results receiving from two regions are summed up and a conclusion is got. Regarding the result, the students in two regions have correspondingly narrow mathematics concept, which is due to teachers' inherent mathematics concept. Finally the suggestion are put forward to change the current conception of mathematics in the paper such as completely changing the teachers' mathematics concept; changing the teaching activity from close to open, changing the teaching idea from traditional to constructive; changing the course and the content of the teaching material from close to open; and changing the learning from close to open, etc.In the past time most of research on the mathematics concept is summing up the academic research in China, so the paper carries out the comparison research through questionnaire investigation, which has a creative significance.
