Motivation to learn is one of the most important factors in Second Language Learning. It has an important impact on Thai middle school students when they are studying Chinese.Using the research achievement of motivation in the field of Second Language Learning for refereace,combining with the actual Chinese learning situation of Thai middle school students. We firstly design < Thailand middle school students Chinese learning motivation questionnaire >.Then we tested 104 Roi-Et Wittayalai chainese major students and 95 Muthayom Wat Magutgasat chainese major students,analyzed the types of their learning motivation and the relationship between gender,grade, ethnic group and motivation types.According to the research results, intrinsic motivation is the strongest and extrinsic motivation is the weakest of all Thai middle school students’ learning motivation. In the gender of students,female students learning motivation is greatest more male students. In the grade of students, instrument motivation of Roi-Ed Wittayalai students following to the higher grade of students and instrument motivation of Muthayom Wat Magutgasat students following to the lower grade of students.In the achievement motivation of Roi-Ed Wittayalai students and Muthayom Wat Magutgasat students following to the lower grade. In the ethnic group of students, the integrative motivation on students of Chinese ancestry is greatest more non-chinese ancestry students.In accordance with the personality and characteristics of Thai middle school students, We proposed some specific teaching strategies which could stimulate their learning motivation.
