History learning motivation is a psychological motive,in which the desire for history learning is transformd into behavior.Through self-regulation,the internal desire of each individual coordinates with exterior inducement,arousing and maintaining the motive power of history learning behavior.Cultivating and inspiring students' learning motivation of history doesn't simply mean the improvement of students' academic level. Also,it can help students change their learning methods and therefore lead to their self-development.Besides,the functional value of history also requires students to maintain a certain level of motivation.But to our regret,as for pedagogical psychology, the theory of learning motivation is mature.They offer related theoretic support for the research of motivation in our teaching practice,but when it comes to our history subject,the research seems too weak which makes it necessary to study the learning motivation of history.Based on the result of questionnaires,the article offers a series of effective analysis concerning the learning motivation of history,for example,the main driving force that pushes students to learn history is exams and this force is directly proportional to the importance of exams.Inner motivation has something to do with students' academic result while external motivation does not necessarily help students actually.The article offers some information which helps study the factors that affect the learning motivation of history and the methods to increase students' learning motivation.According to the survey,we can find that the external factors that affect the learning motivation firstly comes from the requirements to deal with senior school entrance and college entrance exams.Also it is affected by social value,atmosphere,the environment of family,school and classroom.But the inner factors that affect the learning motivation of history include ages,the past experience,academic level,psychological condition,will,characters and so on.Combining the above research and teaching practice,the article put forwards some methods that are connected with inspiring and cultivating students' learning motivation. Firstly,in order to inspire and maintain students' learning motivation,teachers should first improve their educational,management,and teaching levels,and also they should win their students' trust by establishing harmonious relationship.Also,teachers should learn to create a lively atmosphere in the history classroom.Secondly,teachers should help cultivate students' interest in history and help set a correct aim,help inspire their achievement motivation,sense of self-efficacy and their inner learning motivation. Thirdly,we can inspire and maintain students' external learning motivation by using awards,punishment,or by offering feedback information.Above all,there are some principles for us to follow:Firstly,we should consider students' individual difference and teach according to the student's ability.Secondly, we should coordinate the relationship between society,school,family and classroom. lastly we should focus on cultivating the inner motivation and at the same time pay attention to external motivation as well.
