A Study Of Jia Zhimin 's Reading Teaching

Zhimin Jia is a well-known special-grade teacher in primary school in Shanghai. His teaching methods in reading and writing have a tremendous influence all over the country. The author believe that reading plays the utmost role in teaching Chinese, especially in the primary school stage. Mr. Jia, as a matter of fact, has unique experiences in teaching reading, and has made a huge influence among other Chinese teachers. Therefore, this article would find out what make Mr. Jia excel in the teaching field.By conducting case study and literature reviews on Mr. Jia’s theory and strategy on teaching reading, this article will find out the essence of his teaching skills, and would hopefully benefit other primary school teachers in China. There are five sections in this article. The first section is the introduction, which includes the introduction of subject background, research review and research methods. The second section is the key points of Mr. Jia’s teaching theory, which are Teaching Chinese is teaching life, Don’t do anything other than learning Chinese on Chinese class, and Chinese should be real, simple and solid. The third section focus on Mr. Jia’s teaching and training strategy, which includes reading, speaking and writing. The Forth section emphasis on the conclusion of Mr. Jia’s teaching style and suggestion of the potential improvements on his teaching style. The last section is the author’s gain and thoughts during the research, which are emphasis on the students, the development of students’ interests in learning Chinese, and pay attention to comprehensive reading and writing as well as get on-time, accurate, and effective feedback.Overall, the author reached the conclusion that Mr. Jia has unique teaching style and training strategy. Such teaching style and training strategy is not only a guidance for other Chinese teachers, but also an important foundation for the further improvement of teaching skills.
