By the means of Event-related Potentials(ERP), the research tested the emotion changes of the participants who were in a state of stress before and after a single swimming exercise. In the point of Cognitive neuroscience, we demonstrated that swimming can improve individuals’ pressure condition, as well as the EEG changes result from the different emotional stimulates. Benefited by that, a scientific quantification decompression program will work out and it will help the pressure group to concur the stress statement and emotion status.Measured by the within subject experimental method, 15 participants were selected by the hand questionnaire and PSTRI(the Pressure Index>101). All of them did the emotion elicitation by the different properties emotional pictures(positive, neutral, negative). After the 45 min swimming exercise, they would watch the related swimming exercise video and received the imagining training in order to reproduce the exercise scenario. The volunteers needed to evaluate their self emotion condition. Meanwhile, we detected their ERP changes before and after swimming exercise as well as the PSTRI results.Results:(1) The index of PSTRI after the swimming exercise is significantly lower than the score before the swim exercise(t=7.250,p﹤0.01). The results proves that swimming is the effective way to ameliorate the stress statement.(2) Whether motivated by the positive, neutral, negative emotional pictures, the self-evaluated emotional scores of the participants after swimming is significantly higher than the scores before swimming(p﹤0.05). So we can conclude that the swimming exercise can push forward the non-negative emotions generating and help people get rid of pressure.(3) No matter what kind of emotion elicitation the participants received, all the periods of emotional self-evaluation turned out the significant emotional related ERP component—the last positive component.(p﹤0.05 for all the neutral, positive, negative emotion elicitation).(4) Combined Brain Topographic Map, researcher analyzed the average amplitude of LPC component and find that after swimming exercise, which compared with the neutral(F=7.055,p=0.021) and positive emotional pictures(F=6.140,p=0.029), the negative emotional pictures(F=5.699,p=0.034) evoked greater changes in amplitude of LPC.According to all the results we found, we can say that by the means of swimming exercise, subjects have a deeper cognitive process of emotion self-evaluation. On the other hand, their level of depression and anxiety are low down. Owing that, we can get the conclusion swimming successfully improve the individuals’ pressure and emotion condition.
