Straw art is widely popular,and used a variety of flexible herbaceous plants as the raw material processing, compiled a handicraft. Straw technology applied to the elementary school fine arts teaching process, is conducive to the cultivation of students’creative thinking ability, and the development of students’potential, which can promote students love of his hometown. In Yongzhou, at present, although some schools have will be introduced to the folk art teaching activity, the researchers rarely conduct the thorough research to the relationship of straw art art teaching.In this paper, the Yongzhou area art teaching has carried on the research and analysis, mainly from four parts to writing:the first part briefly combed the writing background; The second part mainly talk about straw art and Yongzhou area folk art in the fine arts education present situation, the selection of interview and questionnaire, respectively from the angles of teachers and students to the straw art teaching situation of field investigation and case analysis, and according to the survey interviews and questionnaire information and analysis, the third part expounds the straw building and application research of art courses in art education; The fourth part is the conclusion, the art of straw resources in Yongzhou area art teaching application research has carried on the summary.Research on straw art resources in the teaching of fine arts teaching application, its purpose lies in:first, is to develop students’creative thinking ability; Second, is to stimulate students’potential; Third, is to cultivate the students’aesthetic ability; Fourth, to enhance students’love of hometown.
