A Study On The Lack Of Moral Responsibility Of Contemporary College Students And Its Countermeasures

Moral Responsibility is the basic requirement of social moral principles and standards, as well as the embodiment of people’s performance of the ethic codes. In addition, Moral Responsibility is of great importance for the well-rounded developments of college students and the social progress. However, with the further developments of Reform and Opening-up and the enhancements of market economy in China, lack of moral responsibility is a severe problem among college students, who are the builders and successors of Chinese socialism cause and will decide the future direction of the Chinese nation. Therefore, their issues of moral responsibility shortage are worth the attention of the whole society.Firstly, this paper studies the related concepts of college students’ moral responsibility. The specific performance of college students’ lack of moral responsibility includes: self-moral responsibility deficiency, misplacement of family morality responsibility, weak social moral responsibility, etc. Secondly, the author concludes the lack of college students’ moral responsibility from individual, family, school and social perspectives, mainly include: an individual’s neglect and misunderstanding to moral responsibility, the negative impact of family moral responsibility education, the lack of school moral responsibility education, and the adverse impact of the social transition to moral responsibility, etc.Finally, at the basis of full exploration for the reasons of college students’ moral responsibility deficiency, specific countermeasures are provided to solve this problem. Main countermeasures are as below. First, to develop college students’ moral responsibility personality by strengthening comprehensive knowledge learning, forming the attitude of respect and cultivating feelings of love. Second, to improve the cultivation of moral responsibility for college students. This includes strengthening the consciousness of moral responsibility, promoting the accomplishment of college students’ moral responsibility and carrying on the practice. Third, pay attention to students’ moral responsibility education. For example, following the laws of education, integrating the content of education and creating the cultivation of moral responsibility environment. Fourth, to establish the moral regulation system centered by responsibility. This includes the following contents: to improve the moral responsibility system of rewards and penalties as well as the social moral responsibility evaluation system. The paper tries to improve the level of college students’ moral responsibility from the students themselves, their family, school and society, to solve the lack of moral responsibility of college students, and to promote the healthy growth of them while enhancing the social development stability.
