The esthetics ability is a kind of ability to live nobly when one conducts himself, because beauteousness may guide people to feel the warm of human nature in the ice-cold information age, and can lead people into the spirit world from the material world. When one has esthetics ability, his mind can accept all kinds of concepts of beauteousness, promote the consummation of morals sequentially, constructs the happy life, achieved the personality’s harmony and perfection. Cultivation of esthetics ability is the request of the era and the education for all-around development, is a very important topic being focused on by educational circles all over the world.Chinese ancient literature is an important part of Chinese education. The teaching is difficult, the course content is abundant, involving literary styles including poetry, prose, lyric, biography, traditional opera, novel and so on, which reflected historical reality of ancient Chinese in aspects of life, thought, art, etc. It contained the spirit of the Chinese traditional culture, has extremely high value of esthetics.This paper practices research of how to cultivate the students’ esthetics ability in the teaching of Chinese ancient literature in the senior middle school phase.The first chapter sums up the value of Chinese ancient literature in cultivating students’ esthetics ability from angles of sensation ability, imagination ability, emotion ability and comprehension ability. The second, chapter sets out from the present situation, objectively analyzes the teaching material characteristics of Chinese for senior middle school, seeks the problems of ancient literature existing in the esthetics ability cultivation from the teaching aspect and students’aspect, and makes further reason analysis aiming at the problems mentioned above. The third chapter mainly proposes strategies of how to cultivate students’ esthetics ability through teaching of ancient literature, mainly through recitation method, question research method, accumulation penetration method and scene deduction method in order to cultivate students’ esthetics sensation ability, esthetics imagination ability, esthetics emotion ability and esthetics comprehension ability.
