The implementation of the new curriculum standard makes different requests about the way students learn, the traditional teaching mode can not meet the requirements of the new curriculum standard for its inherent shortcomings and insufficiency; but the emergence of multimedia auxiliary teaching technology, to some extent makes up the defect of the traditional teaching mode. This technology has become a very important teaching means for more and more education workers show interest in it. For its simple operation, powerful graphical interface, the geometer’s Sketchpad has become an important tool in middle school mathematics teaching, the combinational study of the Geometer’s Sketchpad and the high school mathematics teaching is of great significance.At first, this paper expounds the function, research status and related teaching theory of the geometry sketchpad, and then discusses the functions of the geometric sketchpad used in senior high school mathematics teaching, which include the change process of the graphics and number, the cultivation of the students’ divergent and innovative thinking, and the four basic application principles:the principle of effectiveness, develop thinking quality principles, the principle of subjectivity, and the principle of rationality. Through two teaching cases named the image and nature of trigonometric function and the definition of the elliptical, explain the detailed process. Finally through the comparison of learning situation, I get the conclusion that the geometric sketchpad assisted high school mathematics teaching is helpful to improve students’ interest in learning, the learning attitude and study way and the classroom efficiency.Finally, this paper points out the insufficiencies in research process, and give three suggestions about the combination of the Geometer’s Sketchpad and the high school mathematics teaching, so that this paper can give a certain guidance and reference function for the high school mathematics teacher’s teaching.
