Research On Social Work Advocacy

For more than 30 years, with the implementation of One-Child Policy and the development of economic society, the social life is facing with more and more risks. This makes "Shidu families" be increasing continually. The “Shidu families” refers to the families that the only one child died of illness, accident, etc, and parents didn’t have or adopt any children. Owing to the existing social welfare system could not ensure their life after losing child, the care of pension / medical / mental comfort and other aspects to these families can’t be better disposed.This paper is going to apply the advocates of social work mode in existing social services, to help families fight for their rights. The advocates of social work is a kind of behavior which with social justice as the core, by evaluating situation, knowing available resources, prepare and consulting.others are contacting with proved service to protect the individuals groups and all the residents who could not self-help in social changes. By participating in the Shidu families community service of some organizations, the writer found that the impairment of medical rights, pension rights and others is the main problem the Shidu families are facing with. Therefore, during the advocating, the welfare rights of shidu families should be established as focus issue firstly, and then the strategy and implementation plan could be made out, and localization model about the social work advocacy of shidu families would be formed at last with the reflection on the difficulties in practice.
