The ideological and moral teaching, as a social subject, should never develop the contemporary middle school students to become whose are “regardless of external trivialities, engrossing in books by the lofty and sagacious”, but should guide the students to broaden theirs’ view at the wider social field. On this account, the news resources, having the authenticity, timeliness and reflecting the social situation, with the combination of the ideological and moral subject is a material resources with the exploitation and application of potential in the ideological and moral teaching. This article tries to probe the using of news resources in the ideological and moral teaching, which is based on the teaching practice and in the purpose of helping teachers use it well.This article uses six to nine grade(8 volumes) of middle school’s ideological and moral textbooks from Shanghai Education Press to explore news resources’ exploitation and application in the ideological and moral lesson. The first of part is the introduction of the reasons for choosing news resources to been exploited and applied in the ideological and moral lesson, and discusses the present research situation, and defines the meaning,type and characteristics of news resources. The second part studies news resources about the significance of the ideological and moral subject. The news resources can help to make up the lag in the ideological and moral teaching materials content, and promote the teaching content of life, and guide the students to pay attention to social events, and propagate the policy information, and then enhance students’ media literacy. The third part illustrates the exploitation of news resources in the ideological and moral lesson. It discusses the exploitation of news resources from the school life, family life, community life and public life of the four plates separately. The forth part discusses the application of news resources in the ideological and moral lesson. The teachers could apply “news” to leading-in teaching, and apply “feature” to as a typical example, and apply “deep report” to assist the speculative analysis, and apply “diagram news” to intuitively present teaching content. The teachers could choose news resources from students to enhance their interest and ability, and adopt comprehensive evaluation to develop their media literacy.This article strives to help students understand the current events at home and abroad through news resources, helping them to link theory with practice, improving their interest in ideological and moral lesson, helping their to improve their ability of analysis and judgment and their ideological level, improving their media literacy, ultimately improving the teaching quality and effectiveness of the ideological and moral lesson.
