On January 1st,1912, the feudal autocratic monarchy, which had ruled China for more than 2000 years, officially quit the stage of history with the birth of the Republic China. The concept of democratic republic was rooted in the hearts of the people. The amount of change in politics also brought a series of changes in education. With the "Provisional Measures of General Education" and "Interim General Education Curriculum Standards" have been promulgated, the prelude of education reform was opened. Under the certain background, textbook as the carrier of the education reform experience, the educational theory research achievement, the discipline professional knowledge and the level of science and technology’s development and embodied the curriculum goals and curriculum content. And the textbook has an important role in the field of education. The primary and secondary textbook is the best text that reflects the change. Compared with other texts, the primary and secondary textbook is more normative, especially the Chinese, history and other humanities disciplines can reflect the characteristics of the times at the maximum limit. At the early of the Republic China, the demands of the textbooks making the book publishing industry sprung up everywhere.The "Essentials of Elementary Education Reform" was promulgated in July 2001. With the promulgation of the policy, the People’s Education Press and other influential publishers have joined the ranks of textbooks compiled. Today’s language textbooks developed on the basis of the former. In order to provide a reference for the primary language of the current textbook editors, the author conducted this study.In this paper, there are six chapters. Introduction section introduces the practical significance and related research results and methods which this paper uses of the "Republic Textbook New National Language". The first chapter introduces the publishing background of the "Republic Textbook New National Language" in this way to make a presentation which content the characteristics of the Chinese’s own development, the enactment of the education policy at that time, spread the idea of Cai Yuanpei’s thoughts who was the minister of education of the Republic and the booming publishing market. The second chapter made a brief introduction of the editors involved in the preparation of "Republic Textbook New National Language", and analyzed the idea of the concept which carried. The third, fourth and fifth chapters are the main part of the paper, which trying to analysis the selected themes, the types of literature, and the source of the "Republic Textbook New National Language". To summarize the main features of the textbook from the perspective of the text content and the text form. The last part of the paper summarizes the experience of writing "Republic Textbook New National Language" which based on the previous chapters. Editing the textbook should according to the educational objectives, highlighting the times, scientifically composing and writing the textbook, the written of the entire issue textbook is the prototype of modern primary school textbook.
