The " embodied cognition " teaching philosophy lead to the education of quality andaesthetic, which makes music get more closer to live. Emile Jaques-Dalcroze who wasa Swiss composer, musician and music educator developed the Dalcroze pedagogy, a method oftaking this teaching philosophy into practice, which also known as Eurhythmics. TheEurhythmics has been applied and drawn by lots of countries in varying degree. In China, TheDalcroze Eurhythmics was introduced in the half of the20th century, combining with dance,rhythm and other forms, it was soon taken seriously for its unique charm and it attracted morepeople’s attention to research on this kind of pedagogy. At present, this study still stay at the earlystage, Dalcroze Eurhythmics is not effectively popularized and there is still a misunderstandingfor this method, so it is unobvious in teaching effect and unoptimistic in application. Today,Dalcroze pedagogy is still in a tepid state comparing to the "Orff hot"During the undergraduate and the graduate internship, the author made a discover thatDalcroze pedagogy has some effect on music teaching in Wuding County elementary school,especially in JinChen elementary school. The investigation was made through interviewing theteach, experiencing the musical class and analyzing the application of Dalcroze pedagogy inWuding County elementary school, the Yi ethnic group’s dance tradition was found as "talk willbe singing, walk will be dancing”. The life of the Yi ethnic group is full of music rhythm, whichmusic is an effective way for them to express their feelings. Yi ethnic group acquired the danceand singing skills from the experience of daily life, which was exactly advocated in Dalcrozepedagogy. It shows that the combination of Dalcroze pedagogy and Yi ethnic group dance hasunique theoretical and realistic significance through the research and investigation on the musicalteaching in JinChen elementary school of WuDing province.
