This paper is about the feature of the clay sculpture active research procedure inthe large class in the kindergarten. Through referring to the relevant literature bothinternal and external, the author has found that the research on manual activities andclay sculpture activities is less relatively. It is short of systematic and specialized worksabout the theoretical research of children clay sculpture activities. With more andmore attention on the art education, as an important part of manual activities in arteducation, the clay sculpture activities should be taken seriously. However, there ismore emphasis on the art development of children in the kindergarten, the educationabout clay sculpture is often neglected. On one side, there are some mud materials in artarea in the corner, but the children have few opportunities to use. On the other side,there is no mud materials in some kindergartens. In some kindergartens, the childrenhave the opportunity to use clay material, but the teachers have less effect on instructingthe clay sculpture activities through the author observe, leading to children havingnothing to do. So what features is there in the clay sculpture activities for the children,and what’s the teachers’ responsibilities during the activities? To solve these problems,the researcher selects a large class in a kindergarten of Dalian. By observational studies,this paper is aimed to research the feature of clay sculpture activities procedure in largeclass of kindergarten. The article mainly analyzes the feature of clay sculpture activitiesfrom two aspects: one is about analysis of each stag e, including intent stage, theconcept and design stage, creative and decorative stage. It is about feature of each stage.The other is analysis of active procedure feature, mainly from the feature of focus,independence, creativity, proficiency and self-feeling operation. After finishing theanalysis, according to the characteristics of active procedure, the paper puts forwardsome suggestions for teachers’ guidance. This study hopes to make a supplement for the theory of children’s clay sculpture activities, complete the deficiency in practice,enhancing the ability of clay sculpture, thus promoting the development of youngchildren’s health.
