This dissertation takes the theory of ideal typical as its methodology to guide an academic predicament as an empirical reality by constructing an idealized academic deserved state. It aims to clarify the academic situation of master students, understand their attitude towards academic by discussing and analyzing the existing academic predicament of the master students with the hope of exploring the methods to help them out of the predicament.The dissertation expound the academic from three aspects, namely, academic knowledge predicament, academic power predicament and academic practice predicament with the reference to the structure of knowledge-education practice-power coming from the theory of disciplinarity for the fuzziness of the academic connotation as well as delimiting the scope of the analysis. The three aspects mentioned above with mutual coupling and complex relationship constitutes the academic predicament of master students.The predicament is the result of various factors. First, the academic accumulation of their own is the decisive factor in the development of the individual. Second, to a large extent the academic environment outside them, which are an indispensable important support for students’ academic activities, can control the behavior of the individual. Besides, the unhealthy interpersonal communication and the indulgence during the process of their cultivating also make the situation become worse to a certain degree.The master students’ predicament should be mainly attributed to their own weak academic foundation. Therefore, all efforts should be focused on consolidating their academic strength and improving their academic level. The importance of the disciplinarity in the history of development of the academic discipline and discipline insiders is not allowed to obliterate despite the fact that it has been suffered a lot of criticisms. Therefore, this paper puts forward to strengthen the disciplinarity of the master students to achieve the goal of master students’ self-salvation finally.
