Language quality is a systematic quality which is the key of language ability. Itincludes many aspects: knowledge of the language, use of language, learning method,learning habits, emotional experience, the humanities and other contents. It fully reflectsthe unifying characteristics, of which language is the combination of humanity andinstrumentality. Nowadays, a phenomenon “strengthen Professional skill training,lighten the development of language quality” leads to decline in students’ languagequality, seriously affecting the growth of students’ professional skills. It has beenwidespread in secondary vocational schools.This thesis combining the teaching practice of secondary vocational school,focuses on research and exploration of which language is the combination of humanityand instrumentality. It both emphasizes the practical functions of language teaching, andgive full play to the educational function of language subjects. I combine practicalsecondary language teaching, especially the characteristics of language learning ofsecondary vocational students of arts, carried out a series of language teaching researchpractice, drew up in the economy, information technology, globalizing of the marketeconomy. To create highly qualified skilled personnel, we must practice languageteaching reform, practice the unifying of which language is the combination ofhumanities and instrumentality. It will improve the professional quality and lay a solidfoundation.The thesis is divided into four parts: the first part is about exploring the status oflanguage education; the second part is about analyzing the status of secondaryvocational school language lessons through a lot of research on students’ languagelearning situation. The third part is about exploring the far-reaching of which languageis the combination of humanity and instrumentality through the specific languageteaching practice. The last part focuses on the researches on teaching practice and theresults on teaching and research of which language is the combination of humanity and instrumentality.
