Since1980, accompanied by the reform and opening-up policy and the impact of the fide ofmarket economy, peoloe’s concepts of family and marriage has undergoneprofound changes, the divorce rate is increasing steadily every year, resulting in the gradual increase in the number of the single-parent families. In these single-parent families, there is a group of academics and aroused widespread concern in the community, they are single mothers groups. For most single mothers, divorced or widowed women may become long-term or even the identity of a lifetime. Nowadays,women’s political status, economic status still needs a revamp and to improve, single mother alone with the children, no doubt so that they become vulnerable groups in society. The poor single mothers in the group is weaker, they need to get support and help.Women’s Union is a mass organizations providing direct service to the majority of women, children, poor single mothers is one of the Women’s Union’s service targets. In order to improve the employment situation of poor single mothers and mental outlook, Women’s Union in X district, Nanjing, attempts to introduce the concepts and methods of social work, purchases social work service from Nanjing T Social Work Firm, providing service to poor single mothers in X district, Nanjing.In this paper, the writer focuses on the specific practice of helping poor single mothers project in X district, Nanjing,from the perspective of social work. This paper introduces projects development, summarizes this project and reflects. Finially, tries to explore the social work service model which is suitable for single mothers.
