With the diversity of society, young people's leisure life becomes more colorful than ever, they have more opportunities to develop themselves and more approaches to ease the physical and mental pressure. In recent years, the learning burden on students has been reduced because of promotion of quality-oriented education; and the channels for further studies become more diversified. However, in the case of "everything seems so well", young people growing up in the pressure are still high, which had been proved by emerging in large numbers of violence, suicide and drug abuse and other deviant behavior. From the word "pressure" to explain adolescent deviance, Agnew's general strain theory(GST) can be described as special tool and a different approach. He believes that pressure is the important factor of juvenile delinquency that is pressured into crime. He consolidated other mainstream criminological theories, and on this basis of them, he brings forward the theoretical model of "pressure - negative emotions - the deviant behavior", to study the causes of crime and mechanism between crime and stressor. This paper introduces the core concepts of GST,and on the basis of it , analyze the causes of deviant behavior of adolescents. Expecting it will play a role in prevention of juvenile delinquency. This article is divided into five parts:The first part is the main content of the general stress theory and the introduction of key concepts. The second part is comparison among GST, social control theory, social learning theory, life course theory and other theories. The third part is the cause of deviant behavior of adolescents. The fourth part is the application of GST.The fifth part is the conclusion.
