In the context of social transformation, adolescents in the critical period of physical and psychological development are extremely vulnerable to environmental influences and produce deviant behaviors. The social problems caused by this have become more prominent.According to this,Scholars from various countries have strengthened their research on deviant behaviors among young people. In this paper, the effect of family structure on adolescent deviant behavior levels is examined by empirical research methods, and the relevant data are from the China Education Panel Survey(CEPS),which shows that, first, compared with families living with their parents, adolescents who only live with single parents and those whose parents do not live have a higher level of deviant behavior.Second, compared with families living with their parents, there is no obvious difference in the level of deviant behavior among adolescents living with mothers, while the level of deviant behavior among adolescents living with fathers is significantly higher than that of adolescents living with parents, indicating that mothers are controlling their deviant behaviors. At the behavioral level,it plays a more important role.Third, parental supervision is an important way for the family structure to control the deviant behaviors. There is an inverse relationship between parental supervision and adolescents’ deviant behavior levels.Family relationship is an important factor in the family structure that affects deviant behaviors of adolescents.Family relations are positively correlated with deviant behaviors of adolescents.Fourth, the influence of family structure on adolescents’ deviant behaviors differs in urban-rural and gender-based groups. The negative impact on rural areas is more serious than that on cities, and the negative impact on women is more serious than that of men.Youth social work plays a unique role in preventing young people’s deviant behaviors. From the perspective of professional social work, this article proposes more targeted suggestions for youth social work practices, advocates more active social policies, and avoids the negative impact of family structure on young people.
