| In the new century, democracy has become the trend of the times that no one and no country will shift .To build China into a prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized socialism modernization power, it is necessary to improve the comprehensive quality of all citizens in China, strengthen the consciousness of democracy and the legal system of the citizens, and especially cultivate democratic consciousness of the students in middle school. But due to the historical tradition, the national political system and social economic development level, especially people's idea of democratic consciousness, cultivation of all sectors of the society has not been fully understood and supported. The school education is one of the main ways to improve the comprehensive quality of citizens, and it is the critical period for high school students to develop the world outlook, the life outlook, and the value outlook. Lack of democratic consciousness is unfavorable to student's lifelong development, but also to the progress of our country and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Therefore, to strengthen democracy education and cultivate democracy and consciousness of students in each subject in middle school has very important practical significance.The paper has three parts. The first part: it mainly describes the research background, and the domestic and foreign research situation. From the reflection of teaching practice of education in many undemocratic education behaviors and the analysis of the phenomenon of education in China, the paper expounds the necessity of conducting the quality education and strengthening the consciousness of democratic education. The paper summarizes the understanding of democracy abroad, education and research of democracy in China in recent years, the situation of democracy research in history education, the deficiency of this study and determined direction. The second part: it mainly describes democracy and democratic consciousness. It expounds the connotation of democracy and democratic consciousness as well as the significance of democratic consciousness cultivation of high school students. "Democracy" reflects the relationship between people and people's democracy, which is the realization of sovereignty and the people's will. The true democracy is that the people are the masters of the people themselves, who create and formulate the state system. Democracy permeates all aspects of people's lives; it is not only a political system, but also a way of life. Democratic consciousness is the floorboard of psychological problems of democracy, requirements, and theory. It contains social members'equality, freedom, independent consciousness, legal consciousness, participation, etc. Democratic consciousness is learnt through practice of democracy in the perception of democracy. Based on the rational knowledge and the characteristics of history teaching in high school, the paper mainly refers to the democratic consciousness including democratic equal consciousness, high independent consciousness, legal consciousness and participation consciousness. This paper discusses the democratic consciousness that is in history teaching process in respect of the student individuality, through changing the way of teaching to cultivate students' self-confidence, improve the student's personality, advocate equality in the open and diverse learning environment, give full play to students' initiative, enthusiasm and participatory democracy consciousness, promote the formation of students, and improve the students' practical ability and innovative consciousness. Part three: it describes training ways of democratic consciousness. It explores the cultivation of democratic consciousness from the following four aspects: new history lessons, new history materials, the democratic teachers, and the new history class. It explores the history teaching ways of cultivating students'democracy, aiming to seek some training ways in the history teaching of the democratic consciousness and practical operation methods and make some beneficial attempts in research learning and students' academic evaluation in high school. |
