Since China' s system-reform from 1978, its economy has been keeping a high developing pace, of which China' s foreign trade has played a major role. Because of the comparative advantages that the Chinese commodity has, its foreign trade has brought a huge amount of foreign currency exchange accumulation. However, since China joined WTO in 2001, with the expansion of China' s foreign trade, the number of anti-dumping and countervailing cases relevant to China has been keeping a high increasing rate. Of all the reasons these cases are started, unfair non-market economy status is an important one. China has suffered a huge amount of economic loss. This thesis focuses on China' s non-market economy status, analyzing why this historical issue arose, how to get recognition of complete market economy status from European and American countries and how China responds. The whole essay consists of six parts. The first part introduces some basic issues about non-market economy status, including its background, arising situation and influences. The second part focuses on some relevant issues about non-market economy status, including the system of surrogate country and unified anti-dumping tax. The third part concentrates on the relationship between non-market economy status and anti-dumping system. The fourth part introduces some new cases of development in the field of countervailing. The fifth part refers to the achievements in the construction of China' s total economy-status. The sixth part gives some suggestion about China' s relevant strategy responding to other countries' unrecognizing acts.
