| Instructed by the historical materialism, the thesis comprehensively studies and analyzes the relationship of corruption and authoritarianism politics during Park Chung Hee and Chun Doo Hwan times in Korea. The thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the foreword.This part intends to make an introduction of the related research from both home and abroad, as well as a presentation of the main meaning, the new concepts and the creative methodology in the research. The next part is the beginning chapter of the main body. By analyzing three main characteristic of Korean authoritarianism:absolute power, government-leading economy and transitionable politics.This part illustrates the authoritarianism's great influence upon the formulation of government corruption.The third part stresses the corresponding impact of the corruption on the Korean authoritarianism politics. Firstly, Political leaders can either limit or accelerate the corruption. Secondly, anti-corruption is the basis for establishing, strengthening, and extending the authoritarianism. Lastly, the former consumes the latter.The forth part discusses how to limit corruption under this special political system. The thesis points out that:with the quality of anti-corruption, political leaders must build and enforce relevant legal system, and develop the culture construction to improve the anti-corruption consciousness throughout the society. To further explain it, the case of Singapore is recommended.The fifth part is the conclusion, which considers that there is a complex connection between Korean corruption and it' s authoritarianism politics, the reason why Korean can develop the economy rapidly is that the government adopt anti-corruption measures variedly. Therefore, in order to limit the corruption in the state of Authoritarianism, the just leaders must be chosen and political reform must be implemented. |
