| Under the background of the regional economic integration's rapid development, on November 6, 2001, an agreement was signed for the establishment of free-trade area (FTA) between China and ASEAN within 10 years in Bandar Sen Begawan, the capital of Brunei Darussalam. If this great aim can come true within 10 years, it will benefit the normal development of China and ASEAN'S good relations of neighborhood, and bring direct and further influence on East Asia even global regional economic cooperation. Thereby, it is necessary for us to discuss and research these questions thoroughly about how to establish the CAFTA, and it will help us to understand them well and impulse the course of establish the CAFTA efficiently.The construction of CAFTA is a new project, so the related study of it is fresh in the world. This thesis tries to study some questions systematically about construction of CAFTA, which uses the regional economic integration theory as the base and integrates theory with practice as well as comparative way and uses the newest dates to discuss it. Consequently, it can offer some reference to the CAFTA'S construction, and make some contribution to impel the development of CAFTA.This thesis includes an introduction and four parts.The introduction theoretically and practically elaborates the regional economic integration's vigorous development in the world, and takes it as this thesis's cut-in point. China must accelerate the step of entrance to East Asia's regional economic cooperation, but the CAFTA'S establishment is a realistic choice for china to entrance to the East Asia's regional economic corporation.The first part of the thesis introduces how the CAFTA was brought forward and established. Firstly, this part takes the China and ASEAN S mutual relation's historical development as an angle of view, dissects how the CAFTA plan come on and the CAFTA'S development; and then dissects why the CAFTA plan establish from various ways, such as answer the regional economic integration's challenge, the worldeconomy's status in quo, China and ASEAN S mutual political economic relationship increasingly strengthen; and then, expatiate the great and far-reaching realistic meaning that what the CAFTA'S establishment bring out to china, to ASEAN, to Asia, even to the world's economic development.In the second part of the thesis, the author starts from the angle of comparative research, systemically analyses the CAFTA and former South-South type regional economic integration's organization, clarify the defect of the latter, and the especial superiority that the CAFTA owns but the former South-South type integration's organization can't assimilate with it. The economic opening between China and ASEAN, the stronger economic strength, the mutual complementarities in economic and trade, the invaluable experience that the ASEAN accumulate at the course of construction, and the same cultural base between this two sides embody the mighty life force that the CAFTA owns, so the CAFTA have the optimistic foreground necessarily.The third part of the thesis dissects the CAFTA'S establishment. The AFTA is the base of the CAFTA, so at first, this part briefly analyzes the ASEAN'S general situation, the establishment and the development of the AFTA, and particularly discusses the AFTA'S contain from several sides such as reducing the tariff, canceling the non-tariff bulwark and the restriction of amount, open the serving trade, erect the ASEAN'S investment area and industry cooperate etc. Afterward, elaborates the CAFTA'S aim of establishment, the mechanism of running, the mode of development, the evolvement and time-table of CAFTA, and mainly according as "China-ASEAN economic cooperate frame agreement", particularly discuss the CAFTA'S establishment from five aspects such as cargo trade, service trade, investment, five prior cooperate department (agriculture, finance cooperate, information and communication technology, manpower resource exploit and Mekong drainage basin exploit) and cooperate at politics.
