If this trend continnues, it will take the serious negative impacts on the physical and mental health of the residents, the stability and development of the social, and so on. this is the main reason for why the residents who live in the city are dissatisfactory with the high-rise residence and satisfactory with the living mode of the traditional courtyard. How to support the necessary and reasonable spaces for the communication activities of the residents in the case of protection the high-volume rate of the high-rise residences is an important subject we face.To solve this problem, Firstly, this paper analyzes the basic characteristics of high-rise residential space and the problems. and then analyzes the main resons supporting the the living mode of the traditional courtyard, and the reasons why it can be existed so long and be distributed so widly and now satisfacted by the people.
