The Eight Sceneries are typical symbols of Chinese traditional cultures. Their long history and abundant contents are treasures of China. For a long period of time, the Eight Sceneries exist only in historical records. Along with economy development of China, improvement of life level, and development of the travel industry, various provinces pay more and more attention on development of their traveling resources. The Eight Sceneries become part of the life of people rather than only historical records in books. Research on the Eight Sceneries becomes more and more emphasized. However, most of these researches focus on literature value and combination rules of these eight scenes and this limits the protection and development of the Eight Sceneries. This thesis compares the eight scenes of the Fengxiang county of Qing dynasty and describes the changes of these scenes from Song dynasty, Ming dynasty, and Qing dynasty to find the original power of the development of the Eight Sceneries and the original intention of the construction of the Eight Sceneries. This provides is a good reference for the Eight Scenery resource development, traveling economy development, protection of the Eight Scenery culture, and city plan and construction; and opens a new perspective of the research of the Eight Scenery and expand the research scope. This thesis consists of four parts. The first part is the Introduction with defines the research objects, introduces the meaning and value of the topic, and related researches on the Eight Sceneries. The first part is the basis of the whole thesis. The first section is the second part which introduces the appearance, development of the Eight Sceneries and introduces in details the Xiaoxiang Eight Sceneries which is typical in China and Guanzhong Eight Sceneries which is typical in Shaanxi Province to provide a basis for the introduction of the Fengxiang Eight Sceneries of the Qing dynasty. The second section is the third part which is the main part of the thesis. It describes gradually the scenes of various districts of Fengxiang county of different times. The scenes of the Fengxiang county in Song dynasty are introduced based on the article collections of the litterateur, Sushi, who gave evaluations on the Eight Sceneries of the Fengxiang county. There are few historic records of the Fengxiang county of Song dynasty. However, the article collection of Sushi includes a lot of journals of the landscapes which explains the scenes of various districts of the Fengxiang county of Song dynasty. For the Ming dynasty, this thesis uses the introductions of the scenes of the Fengxiang county described in the Yong Da Ji written by He Jingming.-Rather than the general introduction of the scenes of the Fengxiang county of the Song and Ming dynasties, the introduction of the scenes of the Fengxiang county described in the Guanzhong Scene Graphical Records written by Bi Yuan is used for the Qing dynasty.By comparison of the description of these scenes of the different dynasties, we can clearly see the change of the Eight Scenes. In this section, I also introduce the scenes of the Fengxiang county in the historic records of the Qing dynasty to find the reason of how the scenes form the Eight Sceneries. The third section is the fourth part and is the conclusion part of this thesis. Based on the description of the second section, this section analyzes the external characteristics of the Eight Sceneries, changes of their meanings, and basis of how they are formed and finally finds the original intention of the construction of the Eight Sceneries. The postscript is the fifth part and is the expansion part and describes the hope of emphasis of the original culture concept of the Eight Sceneries during the traveling resource development and protection of the Eight Sceneries. This is helpful for the whole Chinese culture.
