College English Teaching Cultural Awareness In Research

College English is regarded both as a linguistic tool and a cultural quality course. As a special cultural quality of the course, cultural awareness training is its inherent requirements. However, for a long time, Chinese English teaching has considered it a "tool" as the guidance, therefore it has been taught as a basic knowledge of English language teaching that it ignores human nature and university students'cultural awareness training. In such a case, an investigation about the college English teaching and cultural awareness training situation was made. Under this situation, exploring an effective channel for cultivating student's cultural awareness and enhancing the effectiveness of college English teaching is particularly urgent.This thesis is divided into three parts:the first part includes an investigation and a study of the lack in cultural awareness training in college English teaching.In the survey we found that in college English teaching there exists a serious lack of cultural awareness training.It mainly reflected in College English textbooks, English teachers'cultural awareness and the students themselves, in classroom teaching activities and teaching evaluation.In the second part, based on the study, a research was carried out to explore the necessity of cultural awareness training in college English teaching. In college English teaching, cultural awareness training is an inherent property of college English courses requirement.It is necessary for a new situation, for the college English teaching reform, and also for achieving the requirements of college English teaching goals. The third part suggests training students' cultural awareness in college English teaching.Includes upholding cultural diversity and diversity-oriented; adhering to the culture of different ethnicity, regional and historic culture, and international multi-dimension; In college English teaching,we can exert a variety of cultural awareness training strategies, such as reflecting cultural awareness in the curriculum, enhancing cultural awareness in teaching materials, filtering cultural awareness in classroom teaching and curriculum practices, increasing cultural awareness in college English teaching assessment.
