North East China had been valued greatly by Qing Dynasty as the "Cradle" of its culture. Much as influenced by the educational policy of "Tungusic, Horsemanship and Archery", education in North East China, including Private School Education, still made a remarkable progress.In accordance with North East education, Private School Education achieved great improvement in types and numbers unprecedented. Private School Education fell into a variety of kinds, such as Community Study, Free Study and Private Study. Meanwhile, it increased gradually in numbers, and Heilongjiang Province, in particular, set up this form of education from zero and progressed at a rather high speed.Private School Education played an increasing role in North East China education system, and it was the basic and supplements of official education. Private School Education was the major undertaker of social education and advanced the cultural popularity. However, due to the prohibition from Qing government, Private School Education in North East China bore disadvantages of unbalance, heavy going and instability.A turning point occurred during New Policies in late Qing Dynasty. Private School Education in North East China seized a new opportunity for its further development. On one hand, various schools prospered up and traditional private schools were improved, and the educational system was featured by a dual existence of official schools and private schools. Observed in a chronological perspective, Private School Education in North East China had been in a succession of progress, which found a beneficial basis for future development in North East China.
