The Jinling Qinpai And Its Cultural And Ecological Study

The thesis talked about Jingling School,which is consisted by those GuQin artists who had lived or played GuQin for a long time in Jingling(called Nan king today) from Ming dynast to the end of Qing dynast.They were regarded as a community of GuQin,because they were influenced by the culture ecology of Jin Ling,which consist of the local's history,economy,culture,politics and so on.The thesis explored the evolution of Jin Ling School by approach to its artists and their teach-study connection,to its playing style,and to some GuQin workers.The school was called Jiang School in the middle of Ming because Jin Ling local nears the Yangtze River.Jiang Shool had a Qin song tradition which mean player were singing while playing.Yu Shah Shool attacked this playing style,which was powerful in politics,so Jiang School decayed in the half of Ming,but it revived in the beginning of Qing.China changed so much from the 1990's to now that classic music school is hard to survive and sustain.There are so many players and GuQin communities in Nanjing yet,but the whole and sole Jin Ling School can't find.The thesis presented much information of GuQin in Nan king now by interviewing many players who could be call New Jin Ling School.
