| Referral pronoun, which belongs to a lower classification of personal pronouns, is the kind of words that refer to the person other than the speakers and listeners extensively, including "renjia","bieren","ren","pangren" and "taren" that can be interpreted as "other people" . Chinese Referral pronouns are used in a wide range of high frequencies . This paper attempts to conduct a comprehensive analysis of its members, to describe their characteristics and compare their similarities and differences.This study started from the three levels. First of all, from a diachronic perspective ,the author depicts the referral pronouns through tracing them to their source in ancient Chinese and describes the usages of them in different periods of time . Next ,the author gives a detailed description of the characteristics of each member and its usage from the macro to the micro-, respectively. Then, from each of its semantic , grammatical and linguistic perspectives, the author makes use of a detailed and thorough analysis of its vertical and horizontal comparison, the excavation of the similarities and differences between them. Finally, based on the functional development of"bieren"and"renjia",the author finds the reasons for their alleged evolution from a cognitive and pragmatic perspective . |
