The Companies Say The Name Of The Pattern And Translation Studies

Based on nominal theory, theory of modularity and adaptation theory, this thesis attempts to make a thorough and systematic analysis of enterprise names in terms of linguistics and translation. By using quantitative analysis and corpus analysis, it finds the constituent rules of Russian and Chinese enterprise names, constructs them models, summarizes the bases of naming in enterprise names, reveals characteristics of Russian and Chinese enterprise names, which lay the linguistics foundation for translations of enterprise names, automatic recognition and automatic translation of enterprise names in Natural Language Processing. Then, the author provides models of enterprise names translation, summarizes principles and methods of enterprise names translation. In the end, the thesis has a short discussion on other factors from the perspective of Adaptation Theory; it is proposed that the study on translation of enterprise names is not only the study on linguistics, but also a study on social, cultural and psychological factors.
