Approaches On Enterprise Translation In China

Enterprise translation is the inevitable product of enterprises' development. Its important role is expected to become more prominent after China's accession to WTO. This paper has carried out systematical and integrate case study of enterprise translation aiming at probing deeply into enterprise translation' nature and significance, distinctive characteristics and translation strategies by conducting qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis of what enterprise translation deals with.Though enterprise translation in China came within the orbit of scientific & technical translation in enterprises in China, it covers more scopes than scientific & technical translation does. The complexity of enterprise translation and the nature of enterprises make enterprise translation distinguish itself from scientific & technical translation and literature translation. Confronted with such complex contents, scientific and technical translation cannot be used for such action.This paper suggests that, as an essential reflection of new trend in translation, enterprise translation study is a new discipline, which needs to draw on the findings and theories of other related disciplines in order to develop and formalize its own method. At a time when the 21st century has arrived and China had joined the WTO, more enterprises will make their way into the world market. It is now necessary and desirable to pay attention to enterprise translation and study on it. This means more efforts are still to be taken. It is imperative for the enterprise translators to be armed with unconventional translation concept and strategies to deal with the new situation they face to make more contribution to the development of enterprises in China and to China's economy construction.
