| The system of attendant tomb, the tomb buried with the dead emperor, has appeared before Qin Dynasty, and gradually developed to the significant component of emperor mausoleum system since Emperor Gaozu of West Han dynasty built the Changling mausoleum. Especially in the period of Emperor Jingdi and Emperor Wudi, the system has almost perfectly developed and established. Since 1990s, archaeological work which was roundly done at Yangling mausoleum of Emperor Jingdi, has accumulated abundant information for researches on the system of attendant tomb in the emperor mausoleum of the West Han dynasty. The author had a career of field archaeological work at Yangling Mausoleum for years, and has made a thorough and roundly investigation on other Emperor's tomb simultaneously. In the process of excavating the attendant tomb and organizing the information, the author had a deeply recognition and understanding about the attendant tomb system. On this basis, the author combined the current excavating information at Yangling Mausoleum and investigations information of other emperor's mausoleum with historical documents, done some researches on the attendant tomb system of Emperor Mausoleum in West Han dynasty.The author says that the attendant tomb system in emperor mausoleum of West Han dynasty is the result of succession and development of funeral system based on purely consanguinity and family since Shang and Zhou dynasty, reflects that enlarges the range of people who was buried while limits his status strictly; the system which created by Emperor Gaozu at Changling Mausoleum has almost perfectly developed and established in the period of Emperor Jingdi; the formation and establishment of the system has influenced by the change of political system, landownership and other aspects; the system has a profound influence on the counter system developed later, etc. |
