"Shishuoxinyu" is a novel collection in Song of Southern Dynasty,which is in circulation to the A.D.5 centuries, "Luoyangqianlanji" is written by Yang Xian-zhi in Northern Wei Dynasty,which is approximately in circulation in the A.D.547.The circulation ages of two literatures are happened to in the model of the Middle Ages time.This thesis chooses "Shishuoxinyu" and "Luoyangqianlanji" the masterpieces of Southern and Northern Dynasty,as the object of investigation.There are 5 kinds comparative sentences:"pingbi" "chabi" "jibi" "fanbi" and "yibi".They are respectively conducted a comprehensive and detailed description and statistics,so that we can discuss unique feature and semantic function of comparative sentence in middle ages.On the basis of description,the author of this thesis summaries comparative sentence of "Shishuoxinyu"and "Luoyangqianlanji",compares the differences between them,and draws the conclusion: "Luoyangqianlanji" lags behind at the use of syntax;comparative sentence in "Shishuoxinyu" have the features of various in type and complicate in contents.We also investigate the differences between the "bi"-sentence and "he ru"-sentence in the four literatures of the Southern and Northern Dynasty,in addition to "Shishuoxinyu" and "Luoyangqianlanji",and reveal the similarities and differences of the Southern and Northern Dynasty,and draw the conclusion:old "bi"-sentence is generally seen in the Northern Dynasty literature,new "bi"-sentence and "he ru"-sentence are generally seen in the Southern Dynasty literature,and in Southern Dynasty,"he ru"-sentence is only found in the local literature,not in Buddhist literature.Finally,referring to predecessor's research results,we try to show the evolution outline of "bi"-sentence from pre-Qin to Tang Dynasty."bi"-sentence has approximately experienced three stages:"bidong","fanbi","chabi"."fang"-sentence is the unique linguistic phenomenon in Southern and Northern Dynasty,which is the result of vocabulary replacement,formed by forcing a comparison with "bi"-sentence.As a result of semantic function congenitally deficient,it withers away after the Southern and Northern Dynasty. "he ru"-sentence is the result of the interaction between structure and function.The grammar function of "he" and "shu","ru" and "yu" is similar.After the Eastern Han Dynasty,"X何如Y" mainly expresses rhetorical question,whose original comparison inquiry function is indicated by the similar structure"孰与Y",so"X何如Y"is producted.
