With The Music Curriculum Standards ( experimental draft ) published and tried out, the music curriculum reform starts in the field of the foundational education in China. The new curriculum makes it clear about the nature of the new course, what the new course values, the basic theories of the new course as well as the assessment views which aim at promoting the development of students.As we know, what makes up the important content of the new music curriculum assessment reform is the assessment on the music learning of students. This thesis puts emphases on how to assess the music learning of students scientifically and effectively.This thesis is made up of three parts, including introduction, main body and conclusion.In the part of introduction, the writer brings forward the research questions and clarifies the meaning of this research.The main body consists of three parts. In the first part, the writer does a literature review on the theories of the new course of music learning assessment. Also, he reflects on the present situation and problems underlying in the music teaching learning assessment in China today and finally supplied some theories on which the assessment on the new music course learning is carried out. In the second part, the principles and methods to assess the new music curriculum learning are put forward. In the third part, the writer makes a practical research on the music learning assessment from the view of the new music course and makes a design for the methods of music learning assessment from different angles in many different fields of music education.The last part is a conclusion to the whole thesis.
