Yancheng Seashore Development Of Eco-ethics Research

The wetland is the important territorial and natural resource of China. As well as the forest and ocean, it has many functions and is crowned with a fair name "the kidney of the earth". With the practice of the plan on exploiting the coastal wetland carried out by Jiangsu province, Yancheng tidal flat, a virgin land, never being polluted or eroded before, now is being exploited amid fire and thunder. For the letting out of a large volume of industrial waste drainage and sewage, much tidal flat along Yancheng coast has been turned into places of iniquity, with no fishery resources to speak of. For the short-term interests and to maximize the individual benefits, people, the main part, indulge in exploiting the tidal flat in a fascist form, plunder the resources of coastal waters, regardless of the wetland ecology, trample on the ecology ethics, which make some creature cease to exist, influence the living of the tidal flat and destroy the ecology there. To exploit and develop Yancheng tidal flat better, this paper makes a comprehensive and in-depth probe into the natural value and rights of Yancheng tidal flat by using the environmental ethics theories raised by American Rolsten, Norwegian Naess, and other ecology experts. According to the exploitation reality, it also presents several main moral standards: Aristotle's ecology virtue consciousness, modern ecological human center theory, obeying the rules of nature, respecting the creature on the tidal flat, well treating the nature, objecting to the wetland environmental fascism, using natural resources ecologically, ensuring the rules for the eugenic tidal flat creature, etc. This paper finds out a new theory—modern ecological human center theory as the environment moral standard to guide the practice. On the basis of facts analysis, monographic study and experiment, the paper makes a theoretical breakthrough and innovation on how to realize the tidal flat's environmental ecology. To bring about the ecology ethics, the paper points out that strengthening people's ecology moral education, cultivating their inward ecology consciousness and training ecology men to build the tidal flat is the premise. Setting up rules to combine the resources exploitation and the ecological compensation, and to unify the economical value and the environment protection are effective safeguards. Only with the modern ecological human center theory, can we set up a new tidal flat, with developed economy, protected environment, in a fair and stable order; and can we build a dynamic and harmonious Yancheng tidal flat, and achieve its continuous development.
