There were hermit in the early ancient Chinese history ,and some of their behaviors and concepts have been worshiped by generations,which have become a unique phenomanion Chinese culture and have played a very important in traditional in Chinese culture. So to speak,seclusion is a way of life ,wisdom as well as spiritual wealth our ancestors have left us.Seclusion is a way of escaping from society adopted by some cultured men because they were dissatisfied with contemporary social reality and couldn't tap their potential to the full. Most of them were arrogant intellectuals and it was who took the lead in developing taditional Chinese culture. With the development of history ,these isolated intellectuals have transmitted their own culture and concepts,and more and more people have followed their way. Meanwhile ,the public begine to advocate this kind of outlook of life is indispensable to the thought of Confucian , Taoism, Zen,which have great effect on the formation and development of seclusion. So seclusion has changed from a behavior to a culture and have become a unique Chinese aesthetic culture,which in reture have effected various aspect of Chinese ancient literature,art and so on.Seclusion shows the characteristics of worship of nature and passive way of life .So it promotes the development of idyll in literature and landscape painting in art. Painting aims to refresh people at first ,but with the development of art ,artists tend to convey their feeling s and their works embody their natural and intellectual find spiritual freedom too. So it is with intellectual painting ,which plays an important role in traditional Chinese art history and takes natual for aesthetic standards.
