So far, many academic fruits have been attained on the study of life-consciousness of Shi Tiesheng's works, but there still exist some deficiencies. On the one hand, the study has not been focused on the whole aspects of it and only part of it was explored and the perspective is confined in certain degree as well. On the other hand, the study is inadequate and the inner part of life-consciousness has not been fully researched. As a result, the viewpoints of study and Shi Tiesheng's works do not match well.Based on past academic achievements, the thesis focuses on whole and deep study of the life-consciousness in Shi Tiesheng's works to fully generalize its connotation, analyze the circumstances it evolved from, the resources it built on, and explore the positive and negative effects it has on Shi Tiesheng's works.The thesis consists of the following aspects:Firstly, Shi Tiesheng's understanding about life-consciousness, which includes: 1, who I am; 2, how to face death; 3, what is the meaning of life; 4, how to deal with loneliness.Secondly, how Shi Tiesheng's life-consciousness evolved and the resources it absorbed, which includes: 1, personal experience; 2, Buddhism and Chinese traditional philosophy's influence; 3, Christianity's influence on Shi Tiesheng; 4, Existentialism's influence on Shi Tiesheng.Thirdly, the thesis probes into the evolvement of Shi Tiesheng's fiction. It includes: 1, the change from"intervening in society"and the change from the character of realistic autobiography to allegory and philosophy. 2, the change of composing methods and fictional characters.
