This dissertation researches into woman clothing from a new angle—archaeological angle, on the base of a large collection of material of woman clothing which were found in tombs of Han dynasty. These materials includes mural, pottery and wood figurine, painting on silk, stone relief, picture on pottery and lacquer ware, clothing and so on. According to different characteristics of these materials in different areas, the writer divides China into six districts and summarizes the distinguishing feature of each district. The focal points of this thesis are the differentiation of woman clothing in areas, times and classes. The writer tries to research on some questions in the ideological sphere of Han dynasty behind woman clothing.
