Huang Zhongze was one of the most well-known in the circle of poets in the period of Emperor Qianlong. In all his life he was in dire straits and his talents was not recognized by people of his time. However, he did not attend any poet groups ,did not follow any previous poets and then formed a style of his own.. At that time, he stated his views frankly with his outstanding talent. He persisted that "Birds and worms sing for themselves." He chanted his own grief ,indignation and misfortune, expressed his dissatifaction to the times and accomplished his "poems of poet". Living in the flourishing age but singing sad melody. Huang Zhongze said he "liked writing poems of hidden bitterness." He was called "the great singer of sad melody for the last phrase of the feudal dynasty." I .About Huang Zhongze1. Bitter and short lifeBorn in Wujin (today's Changzhou), Jiangsu in Qing Dynasty, Huang Zhongze was once Zhusheng and candidate of county magistrate. Although he had a high talent of writing poems, he failed in the imperial examination again and again. He suffered from poverty and diseases all thought his life.At last died of diseases and compel of creditor in the government office of department of salt transportation in Hedong at the age of 35.He had left "Collection of Liangdangxuan"to later generations.2. "The best poet during the 60-year reign of Emperor Qianlong"Huang Zhongze worked very hard in writing bitter poems. His "Collection of Liangdangxuan"started its compiling in the year 28of Emperor Qianlong, when the poet was 15 years old. In just 20 years ,he wrote more than 2000poems.In poem writing , he did not follow anyone else, instead ,he formed his own style, using frank words, unrestrained style and sorrowful sentiment to express the anger, loneliness and bitterness of a talented scholar who lost his way in the late phrase of the feudal dynasty. His poems evoked great repercussions in the circle of poets in Qing Dynasty. He was considered as "the best poet during the 60-year reign Emperor Qianlong."II .The singer of sad melody for the last phase of the feudal dynasty1. "Pointing to the autumn clouds and telling you the truth, human relationships are even thinner than the clouds"-Attacking the manners and morals of the times and pointing out their errors.In order to survive, he tried to find another way except taking the imperial examination, but was foiled everywhere. His poems were often subjective and were called "real poems that had the makings of a poet" by Yu Dafu. All his poems had a strong sense of sorrow. He used his own "bitter words" to express sentimental mood. The words were artless but touching. The expression of the "bitter" feelings was both resentful and intense, sorrowful and restrained.A.
