Adjective Overlap Type Adverbial Semantic Categories And Their Grammatical Form

Based upon the former productions, this paper deals with the semantic categories and syntactic representations of the adverbial reduplicated adjectives.The paper starts with defining "instantaneous state" and "persistent state", and illuminates that it is the different "states" of reduplicated adjectives that make them behave differently when they modify verbs. So the adverbial reduplicated adjectives are classified into four categories semantically which are "coherent state", "concomitant state", "result state" and "original state".The article is divided into five parts:The first part, the "state" of the adverbial reduplicated adjectives and its internal differences. Proceeded with the distinction between "property" and "state" firstly, the "state" is divided into four according to the time.The second part: "coherent state" of the adverbial reduplicated adjectives. The third part: "concomitant state" of the adverbial reduplicated adjectives. The forth part: "result state" of the adverbial reduplicated adjectives. The fifth part: "original state"of the adverbial reduplicated adjectives. And in each part of the four, the author explores from three aspects: semantic characters, syntactic representations and structural categories.This text makes a more complete and more thorough study on the adverbial reduplicated adjectives, and there are some new viewpoints:(1) point out the difference ability in reduplicated adjectives to modify verbs (2) analyze the semantic category of the adverbial reduplicated adjectives, (3) explore the performance in formalities of adverbial reduplicated adjectives thoroughly study.
