This article is about the literary and artistic value of Jinwen Shangshu, and it is divided to three chapters.The first chapter analyses the types of writing of Jinwen Shangshu. It is based on the historical documents about Jinwen Shangshu and trys to clarify thedistinguishing features of the six traditional styles---"Dian, Mo, Gao, Xun, Shi,Ming". In this chapter, the author also goes a step further to analyse the developing and changing of the six traditional styles, and finally finds the reasons of their withering away.The second chapter elaborates the artistic attainment of Jinwen Shangshu. The author expounds this topic from narrative techniques, expounding methods, article structures, atmosphere generating, literary character, rhetoric techniques, article styles, readers and articles.The third chapter endeavors to analyze the influences of Jinwen Shangshu. The author believes Jinwen Shangshu has influences upon the other history books such as chronological style, recorded utterance style, biographical style, and also has influences upon the proses and political treatises of Mozi, Mengzi, Xunzi etc, as well as official documents and successive dynasties' literary style.In this article, the author expounds and proves the topic from macroscopic to microscopic perspective in a comprehensive way which indudes History of Chinese Literature, History of Jingxue Study, Ancient Chinese, Ancient literature Theory, Contemporary literature Theory, Phonology, Historical Documents Study and Philology.
