Impressionist Revelation

Post-Impressionism, which emphasizes individuality of art on the art conception, focuses on the expressional consciousness and creational consciousness of painting; It pays more attention to comprehensive use of those painting factors such as figure, color, composition of a picture, brushwork, texture, etc. Artists' inner emotion and conception bring great influence on their painting language; on the contrary, outer forms of their paintings express their inner feelings more deeply. These three representative painters play an important part in the art history, since they demonstrated the advancing direction for modern act in the 20th century from different aspects. This thesis aims at expatiating the characteristics of their painting conception and art language in details, using the methods of contrast, analysis, and synthesis to construe their works. At present, we are still puzzled with much trouble in our practice of oil painting. Therefore, I combined my sketch experience and creation practice to dissert the elicitation from these two kinds of experiences. And it is more important for us to make further research on this area.
