The Ukiyo-e,which was originated in the period of Japan's seclusion and has the characteristics of "World of People,and "Prosperity of the City" unique to the Edo Period,has become a symbol of Japanese art culture.lt essentially a kind of civilian art,reflecting the unique trend of literary thought and plastic arts in Japan,and has the universal modern humanity value As a Japanese art style with the most national characteristics,Ukiyoe has not only rapidly become a popular art trend for both refined and popular taste in Japan,but also played a vital role in promoting the transformation of western modem painting style and the formation of new style.It also has made the painters who objected to traditional academician art find a new direction of artistic creation.Manet,Degas,Van Gogh,Whistler,Rotterick and other masters all learned the essence from Ukiyoe and expressed it in their works.Therefore,the "Japanese doctrine"represented by the artistic manifestation of Ukiyoe is one of the most important aesthetic movements in Europe in the 19th century,from which European art has experienced a totally different expression method and essential spirit from other traditional arts.Based on the history of Japanese art development and combined with the authors own understanding and experience of painting,this paper studied the local humanistic customs of Japan and the development of modem European art.This paper also elaborated the unique painting form and artistic characteristics of Ukiyoe from different perspectives and reviewed its development process in Japan from germination,prosperity to withered,but ultimately amazing in the western world.lt is not only a deep exploration of professional learning,but also an artistic examination and perfection of inner self through combining theory with practice,which has important practical significance and value.
