Study Of The Qianlong Social Unrest And Government Countermeasures

The article studies the evolution of and analyzes lessons of governmental countermeasures in Qing Dynasty with quantitative and qualitative analysis and case study on convulsions in the Qianlong Region Period. The Qianlong Region Period is a turning point in social development of Qing Dynasty, external prosperity covered up the internal risks, convulsions picked up with each passing days. Qing Government used the stick and the carrot to maintain social stability and formed a set of anti-emergency mechanism in practice. The countermeasures of the Qianlong Region Period achieved satisfactory results. Secret society played a singificant roles in convulsions in the Qianlong Region Period and its vitality and political force were beyond people's expectation. Nationality and religion also contributed much to the social stability of the Qianlong Region Period.
