War Period Anhui Secret Society And The New Fourth Army

In history some secret societies had originated in Anhui province .From 1911to 1937, Anhui secret societies had been very active in the greater part of thistime because of the serious natural calamity and cruel domination of warlord.Anhui secret societies became more stronger in Anhui province because thecontrol power of the Kuomintang's government had seriously weakened, andJapanese were destroying the county when the Anti-Japanese War broken out.So Japanese, Kuomintang both paid attention to them.Anhui is important battlefield of the New Fourth Army (N4A )in CentralChina .During the Anti-Japanese War time ,the N4A faced the difficult situationwhen they fell into the surround of Japanese and Kuomintang, and it becametheir most important task to make Anhui secret societies to attend theAnti-Japanese War.According to the characteristic of Anhui secret societies, ,the N4A took allsorts of measures to solve problem of Anhui secret societies, and got someachievement .But because some groups of the N4A had been lack ofconsciousness of base area ,and taken force measures against Anhui secretsocieties excessively ,they had been in difficult some time in Anhui .Under the influence of the N4A united front, some members of Anhui secretsocieties took part in the Anti-Japanese War, such as incitingdefection ,underground communication lines and combating with Japan , anddid lots of contribution for the Anti-Japanese War. At the same time , the N4Ashould spend more time remoulding the ideology of the Anhui secret societies,bringing up native cadres who were familiar with Anhui secret societies.
