The motive that write this essay came from such a reality: that the field of theatrical performing in China is almost filled with those monotonous "public" voice and even together with the bad influences it brought to actors' performing and the development of Chinese theatre. So it's quite necessary to put up the idea of "private voice", which means a characteristic approach to voice training, in order to let the audience get real theatrical experiences in theatre.I will start to talk about "private voice" from introducing the concept and method comparison. Fortunately, western theatre has ever faced the same puzzle scores of years ago, and has solved the puzzle with explorations in a long time. Kristin Linklater Voice Training System is a popular training approach in modern European and American theatre, which was distinguished of seeking characteristic voice of performers. This system has a great deal of invaluable experiences on both theories and practice. It will be a short-cut for my studies in the technique level.It won't be my destination that an artistic exploration only steps still in the technique level. Behine "Private Voice" is the calling of humanism esthetics. In the second part of this article I left a lot of space for the development situation of humanism perspective in the field of art, theatre and theatre education. I pointed out that the humanism esthetic principles will guide our work of artistic creating. Thus, the ideas of what art is, what theatre is, and how theatre education goes will be surely considered when we explore the performers' characteristic voice.Qian Zheng...
