In recent several years, the material language research in the manifestation of Chinese paintings and the manifestation of temporary paintings catch great attention of many well-known painters. As a result, a bunch of artist who put great efforts in this field spring out, they have already held different kinds of exhibitions and made a great achievement so far. Behind the research on the Materials and Techniques in the language system of Chinese paintings, it is the aspiration of those artists that intend to expand the manifestation scope of Chinese paintings. The author believes that, there are three kinds of significances we should notice in the process of research on the Materials and Techniques from the research point of view on the traditional paintings if we rethink and delve into the traditions. First of all, it is quite helpful to produce paints with a strong sense of modern beauty; secondly, it is quite helpful for painters to adopt different kinds of painting materials, techniques and medium to express a kind of cultural consciousness and Zeitgeist; thirdly, it is quite helpful for the cross-research and expansion on different kinds faculties. The author intends to share his years of learning, study and practical experiences through "status quo counter-draw " of ancient mural of China.On the basis of analysis and research on the "status quo" of the traditional paintings especially ancient mural, the author come to acknowledge and conclude the traditional techniques of painting materials by the means of "status quo counter-draw ", from which the author develop his practical research on the techniques of new materials, attach more emphasis on the expressive force of material techniques and breathe the modern beauty form and cultural significance into the art works. As for this research process, it pays great attention to the integration of research on the techniques and traditional painting materials as well as the creation of new paintings and status quo counter-draw of ancient mural. Under the direction of this kind of workshop teaching idea, I become very interested in the research on the traditional paintings especially the ancient mural of China, and I put lots of efforts in it and try my best to expand the scope of materials and form of techniques, and I develop paint materials myself to get a more real understanding of the materials. And in the course of the adoption of different kinds of materials, techniques, means of development and ways of expressions, the idea and thoughts of myself experiences some changes.After laborious material accumulation and reduplicative experiments, I have developed natural "earth texture" series paint materials, "regeneration" series materials of natural minerals, man-made rock paint materials and series varicolored platinum. This series of research help me to get a full knowledge and substantial experience of the characteristics of materials and techniques, and above all enrich and expand my expressive language in my painting works.The "status quo counter-draw " of ancient mural is a kind of new research on tradition, which inspires our interests of research on the beauty of "status quo" and the beauty of "material texture". The manifestation of "status quo counter-draw " accumulates lots of systematic painting materials contents and technical experiences, which in turn greatly expand the knowledge and the space of exploration and creation. Therefore, we get to know that the "status quo counter-draw " of ancient mural can give us lots of inspiration for our inventions.
