To get a new and better understanding of several contentious issues in the study of history of Chinese language , the thesis, based on the discussion on the grammatical and meaning functions of such negatives as "[bu]51"[fu]35"[wu]35""[wu]51""[wei]51"[fei]55" in Zuo Zhuan ,the historical literary work , is trying to suggest that first, "[fei]55" in Zuo Zhuan can only be an adverb rather than a linking verb ; Second , the formulas "[fu]35=[bu]51+[zhi]55" are far from reasonable , because these two adverbs are always in the follow-up sentences ,negating the transitive verbs ; third , not only can "[wei]51 "negate what happened in the past, but also what is happening at present and even convey the meaning of wish or possibility in the future , emphasizing the variability of an action . Besides , "[wei]51" does not mean "[bu]51 ". When "[wei]51 "s followed by an auxiliary or static verb or an adjective , it has a static negative meaning but still with a dynamic sense , meaning "not yet" . In addition , the thesis also briefly discusses another two words - "[fei]214" and "[wu]35" , which are closely related to "[fei]55" and "[wu]35" respectively ,and comes to the conclusions that first , "[fei]214" and "[fei]55" used to negete the predicete are really identical ,the only difference is the stage where they are used . Second, only when "[wu]35" is used as an adverb can it be interchangeable with "[wu]35" . |
