Since the time when the book "The Travels of Marco Polo" was published, Europeans have showed strong interest in China. To them, China was a mysterious country. As early as the 17th century, china was described as an affluent, peaceful and far-flung country by means of the introduction of Western missionaries. By the 18th century, with the many translations from Confucian classic books and the deeper understanding of Chinese culture by the Europeans, China was more regarded as an ideal place by many philosophers. The impression that Europeans had at that time was from the contact with commodities in the commercial trade, as well as too many literature concerned with China. Under the influence of such comprehension, China was known to be full of multi and strange figures. This also resulted in the first outbreak of " Chinese Vogue". The popular European's Rocco art in 18th century was directly from this kind of art influence. Further, the western knowledge and instruments introduced by missionaries also had a certain effect on the designing of China traditional culture techniques, as well as on gardens and architecture. For example, European Palace (Yang lou) Landscape is a typical case. This article mainly discussed the influence of Chinese architectural design on the western world and conversely the effect of Europe on China, in hope to figure out the figure for the communication between China and Europe in 17-18th century, and the deeper comprehension of two different cultures' properties, collision, amalgamation and direction.
