The dissertation mainly focuses on the water_conservancy works ofthe "Western Han and Eastern Han Dynasty". It points out that althoughthe constraction of water__conservancy works was treated as a criticalmaneuver during the progressing of enhancing the agricultural out puts. As well as dealing with the disasters of flood and drought, it should be carried out sensibly and moderately. The dissertation comprised of 3 parts:1. The reason and re_evaluation of Weastern Han Dynasty's initiativeconstruction of water _conservancy works in "Guan Zhong" district. Itpoints out that though the prosperous construction of water_conservancy works greatly accelerated the progress of local social economy, they'd changed the local geogarphic station to a certain extent, and thus affected the fluctuation of the Yellow River floods.2. It mainly argues about Wangjing's water control methods, especially it evaluation of Yellow River floods largely resulted in Wangjing's water_controlling methodsę¢'oping with both he and bian at the same time. Although we deemed that Wangjing's methods were in a way superficical, we should evaluate it according with its particular circumstance and objective condition.3. The characteristics of Eastern Han Dynasty water__conservancy works.This part mainly points out: comparing with Western Han Dynasty, Eastern Han Dynasty had some traits of dispersity and localization.These works stand out well in the history of the water conservancy construction in Ancient China.
